Box of Rain V2.0 for Filemaker Pro for Windows offers Three databases in one: Album/Tape/CD Tracking, Song Lyrics, Cassette Inserts. This database will work with Filemaker pro for Mac or PC but has been optimized to work best with Windows.
This file is password protected to prevent the changing of scripts or layouts. The author will give the password to registered owners. Otherwise, this database is fully operational and ready for new entries. The author made EXTENSIVE use of buttons, scripts and graphic elements to create a template that is extremely useable, efficient and attractive.
This is actually three databases interlinked through scripts and buttons (navigation is a breeze). One is for album, CD, and tape cataloguing, another is for song lyrics, and the third is to create cassette box inserts and keep track of those concert tapes.
In addition to providing traditional listing capabilties of the records in the database, "A Box of Rain" also provides an Extended Listing with the capacity for pasting a thumbnail picture of the album cover and a sound sample from the album. You can also generate "A Perfect Album Side" which randomly selects songs from the database and places them in a new record. Using a companion file, A Box of Rain also allows you to lookup the lyrics to a particular song, either from the Cassette Database or the main Music Collection database.
